KEIGHLEY College GCSE students turned out in force to pick-up their results.

And they were praised by college principal Steve Kelly.

"We are very proud of all our students and want to say a big 'congratulations' to those collecting their results," he said.

"Over the past year, hundreds of students have passed their qualifications – including GCSEs, vocational courses and apprenticeships.

"It has been a fantastic year, with improving success rates and students making positive progress.

"Many of our students are progressing to work, higher education or further study at the college.

"This year is an exciting one for us with the expansion of our textile academy, professional sports coaching in partnership with regional teams, digital welding and supported internships."

Mr Kelly said the college was also launching a new range of adult courses and he heralded the opening of a university centre, which will offer a number of degrees in subjects including teaching and learning and health and wellbeing.

He added: "We have now started enrolling and would encourage anyone interested to call 01535 685000 or visit keighleycollege.ac.uk."
