PLANS have been put forward to transform a historic Keighley town-centre pub site into homes.
The proposal – submitted to Bradford Council – is to convert the 180-year-old Burlington Arms, in Market Street, to housing.
Zentek Holdings is seeking to turn the pub – which closed last year – and its attached living accommodation into four, two-bed houses, including a first-floor extension.
A similar application for the building was refused in May, due to the site falling within the Keighley Town Centre Conservation Area.
The building is next to the Grade II* listed Keighley Shared Church.
Planning officers said the extension would be “a disruptive element in the established traditional setting of the Keighley Town Centre Conservation Area.”
A decision on the new application is expected in October.
