A KEIGHLEY company has been named sole workwear supplier to a major UK buying group.
Speak’s Workwear has won the contract to provide Unitas Wholesale with embroidered uniforms for its members.
The move follows successful meetings with Steve Hodson, Unitas’ support services trading controller, at the group’s Doncaster base.
Speak’s managing director, Peter Wowk, said he was delighted.
He added: “I think our experience in supplying the Nisa group of supermarkets helped us win the contract – as it gave Unitas the confidence we could handle multi-fascia branding for thousands of stores.”
The Speak’s embroidery department, set up in 2011, now occupies a whole floor of the firm’s Lawkholme Crescent building.
Embroidery manager, Martyn Cattle, said: “We’re now embroidering around 500 garments a day – with that figure growing monthly. Luckily we have a decent-sized building, so there’s still another floor we can use!”
