KALA Sangam is this month launching a wide selection of classes in dance, theatre, music and language for all ages and abilities.

The intercultural arts centre in Bradford is introducing Breakin classes with Tranquil Productions on Mondays from 6-8pm.

These are aimed at people who like Hip Hop culture, are curious to find out more, or want to improve strength, stamina and flexibility.

Starting on September 10 is Bollywood Dance with Zoobin Surty from the Karma Dance Company, on Tuesdays from 7-8pm.

Inspired by the sights and sounds of the world’s biggest film industry, this class will help people keep fit while learning spectacular routines ready to perform in Kala Sangam’s Christmas British Bollywood Spectacular.

Other dance classes on offer include Movement! for people aged 16-plus with a disability, learning disability or autism and their carers, running on Mondays from 5-6pm.

People can learn the classical Indian dance style Bharatanatyam, as part of Kala Sangam’s Bharatanatyam Academy with Santosh Menon, on Saturdays from 10.30-11.30am and starting on September 21.

Taught by renowned dancer, Santosh Menon, the beautiful and dramatic dance style tells the stories of Indian mythology through hand gestures, footwork, facial expressions and neck and head movements.
