TEMPORARY post office services have been restored in a South Craven village.

Provision has been set-up at the New Inn, in Main Street, Cononley.

The so-called hosted service will be open every Thursday, between 10am and 2pm.

Customers can access almost all Post Office services and products, plus a wide range of banking facilities.

It is being operated by the postmaster from Settle.

Post Office Ltd says the measure has been introduced following the closure last year of the village post office premises.

“The temporary hosted service has been launched while we continue to seek a permanent solution,” said Angela Bettison, for the company.

“We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

“We’re confident that this post office service at the heart of the community will meet customer needs.”
