A WOMAN died after taking a combination of illegal and prescription drugs and alcohol, an inquest has heard.
Jennifer Downing, 43, and known to friends and family as TJ, was found dead in bed at a friend’s flat in Greenway, Glusburn, on November 10 last year.
North Yorkshire assistant coroner Jonathan Heath said a post-mortem examination found a number of drugs in her system, including cocaine, methadone, prescription drugs and ethanol..
Prescription drugs in hers and her boyfriend’s name, Robert Smith, were found in the flat, along with needles and drug paraphernalia.
The inquest heard Ms Downing was a former heroin user and had been found unresponsive in the early hours of the morning by her boyfriend.
Mr Heath said he was satisfied she had died as a result of ‘excessive alcohol consumption and the use of illicit and prescribed drugs’ and recorded a verdict of misadventure.
He said there was no foul play and no one else was involved in her death.
