ALTERNATIVE garage rock band Box Jellys have released their debut album Smack. The Keighley four-piece launch the album on Friday October 4 with a gig at Studio 5 Live in Keighley.

They recorded the album after playing the Beatherder and Moor Music festivals and featuring on Drystone Radio and Radio Leeds, which described song I Am A Dog as a “terrific, chaotic banger”.

Box Jellys are singer/guitarist Oliver Farnell, guitarist, keyboard player and singer Bryn Price, bassist Danny Payne and drummer/singer Luke Parker.

Thepunksite.comsaid the Box Jellies blended indie, alternative, punk and garage into a hedonistic stew. Reviewer AJ Phink wrote: “BoxJellys have come a long way since their lo-fi 2013 debut EP Jimmy Cricket, it’s clear that the disjointed summery stripped back sound of that release has been augmented with some serious fuzz.”

The Box Jellys can be found on streaming and download platforms Bandcamp, SoundCloud and Spotify Visit boxjellys.com to find out how to get the album and for details of the gig.
