A CYCLIST is calling at Riddlesden as part of a mammoth charity ride around the county.
Jonathan Emberton is aiming to visit all Yorkshire Wildlife Trust’s 100-plus nature reserves, including Low Wood alongside the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
His epic fortnight-long challenge in aid of the charity, during which he is covering more than 600 miles, began on September 30.
He set-up an online fundraising page, at justgiving.com/fundraising/jonathan-emberton, which has so far coined-in over £400.
Mr Emberton said: “As a keen cyclist, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust member and orienteer this seemed like the ideal challenge to try to put something back for an organisation I think does wonderful work.
“I want to get a sense of the diversity and richness of all the trust’s reserves and to pass these impressions on to as many people as possible.”
Amanda Spivack, for the trust, said the charity was “absolutely thrilled” at the challenge.
“They are incredible fundraising plans and we are so grateful that Jonathan has chosen us to support,” she added.
