VAPING is to be banned in Keighley’s Airedale Shopping Centre.
The use of all e-cigarettes in the popular precinct will be prohibited from Tuesday (Oct 8).
Centre manager, Steve Seymour, said the move was in step with bans imposed at many other venues across the UK.
He added: “Smoking has not been permitted in the centre for over a decade and with the growth in popularity of vaping and e-cigs we believe it was important that we introduce this policy for the comfort of all shoppers and visitors.
“We have had a number of tenants who’ve not allowed vaping in their stores for over two years. Following customers’ comments and feedback we felt that it was appropriate that we follow many other shopping centres, public transport and sporting arenas in banning the use of e-products.
“I am sure our visitors will appreciate that this decision has been taken in the interests of the majority who prefer a smoke and vape-free environment and we thank them for their support.”
