STEETON-with-Eastburn has a new vicar.
The Rev David Coleman was inducted in a special service at St Stephen’s Church.
Bishop of Leeds, the Right Rev Nick Baines, and the Archdeacon of Bradford – the Venerable Dr Andy Jolley – led the induction.
The service included a commendation from the churchwardens of the Rev Coleman’s previous parish – St Mary’s, in West Chiltington, Sussex.
They had travelled to Steeton specially for the service and presented their former vicar with a kneeler bearing the St Mary’s name and the white rose of Yorkshire.
A St Stephen’s spokesman said: “The church was full – with those present including many of the regular congregation, clergy, representatives of the local council, school and other organisations, and residents.” A buffet supper was served.
