DR AMIR Khan, the charismatic star of Channel 5’s GPs: Behind Closed Doors, and a social media sensation will be the guest speaker at a fundraising charity event in aid of Manorlands.

Dr Khan, who works at the Ridge Medical Practice in Great Horton, Bradford, has built up more than 50,000 Twitter and Instagram followers since appearing on the popular television series that takes a behind the scenes, warts and all look at the work of one of the biggest medical practices in Bradford.

Dr Khan, who has also appeared on BBC Breakfast, got a scholarship to Bradford Grammar School, before going on to study medicine at the University of Liverpool.

The charity dinner, with Dr Khan, and organised by the Wharfedale support group of Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice, will take place on Tuesday November 12 at the Grassington House Hotel, Grassington.
