HEALTH Secretary Matt Hancock visited a Silsden care home.
He spent nearly an hour at the Raikes, chatting to staff and residents.
Mr Hancock was accompanied by Robbie Moore, who is standing as Conservative candidate for Keighley at next month’s General Election.
Raikes owner, David Crabtree, said a number of issues concerning the social care sector were discussed.
He added: “The minister spent time listening to staff and residents and my own views on poor funding, and how Airedale Hospital beds will become blocked as those who cannot pay independently for care in Ilkley and surrounding areas will struggle to find places in care homes.”
