KEIGHLEY College students are turning on the style as part of a community initiative promoting sustainable fashion and entrepreneurial skills.

Sixteen students have joined forces with designer and boutique owner Sam Tretton to organise a fashion show.

Eco-Glam, which takes place on Friday (Nov 22), will feature collections created by some of the college’s upcoming designers.

Foundation Learning course leader, Carly Newsholme, said: “Students are learning about enterprise and running a business and they have led this project from the initial ideas to press, advertising, sales, modelling and food and drink. The students have also learned about sustainable fashion and looking after the environment, as well as what it’s like to work as a designer in the fashion industry.”

The event – in the college atrium, from 6pm – will also include stalls, and Sam will showcase handmade vintage clothes and accessories that guests can buy. There will be performances from students.

Tickets are £5. Visit keighleycollege.ac.uk/events/eco-glam-fashion-show.
