A KEIGHLEY mosque is staging an open day.

Madina Masjid, in Spencer Street, is opening its doors to the public on Sunday, December 1.

A wide range of activities is planned.

Visitors will have the chance to look round the building.

And other attractions will include a three-course meal and Islamic calligraphy.

The open day takes place between noon and 3pm, and there will be a presentation at 1.30pm.

Organisers say the event gives the opportunity for a range of questions to be answered.

“Who was the Prophet Muhammad? What do Muslims believe about Jesus? What does the Qur’an say about Jesus? What does the Bible say about Muhammad?” said a spokesman.

For further information about the event, e-mail keighley@ukim.org or call 07718 686149.

Earlier this year, the mosque held a hugely successful open day as part of national Visit My Mosque Day, involving the Muslim Council of Britain. It encouraged mosques to hold open days to welcome people from all faiths and none to help build bridges between communities.
