HAWORTH Band is searching for a new leader in advance of the departure of its present musical director.
The quest begins as the band takes a quick breath between a busy summer/autumn programme of concerts and an even busier Christmas season.
Spokesman Heather Haykin said: “The band has had great summer and autumn seasons performing at many events such as the Haworth Steampunk Weekend, Malham Show, the Manorlands Garden Party and the Remembrance services in Haworth.
“The band is now preparing for a very busy Christmas season starting on November 30 in Haworth, then December 7 with carols in local supermarkets Sainsbury’s and Morrisons and a Christmas event at Laycock Village Hall.
“There will be the Haworth Brass Band Weekend on December 14 and concluding with carols in the Haworth public houses on December 21 starting at 5.30pm.
“Our excellent musical director Steve Williams is retiring at Christmas. The band has made great progress under his leadership, and is now commencing the search for a new conductor and musical director.”
