A CHOIR’S busy summer programme has struck a chord with Manorlands.

Members of Airedale Male Voice Choir raised £1,000 for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice through various events they performed at.

Manorlands-based Sue Ryder fundraiser Andrew Wood attended one of the choir’s weekly, Tuesday-evening practice sessions – at Trinity Church, off Fell Lane, Keighley – to receive a cheque.

He thanked the group for its continued support.

“The choir has raised tens of thousands of pounds for Sue Ryder’s care in its history,” said Mr Wood.

He was presented with the latest cheque by choirmaster Paul Harris, pianist Sue Watkiss and member Dr Mike Hughes, who is a consultant at Manorlands.

The choir is raising funds for the hospice again when it performs at the Cullingworth Christmas concert on Saturday, December 14.

The concert is at Cullingworth Methodist Church, at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available from the church and Cullingworth Paper Shop.

The choir is currently recruiting new members.

Anyone interested in joining should contact Mr Harris on 07504 128275.

Manorlands supports patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families at the hospice and in the community.
