FURTHER strike action is taking place this week over cuts to the district’s libraries and museums service.
Members of union Unite are staging more walkouts in protest at Bradford Council’s plans to slash more than £1.05m from the service budget in 2020/21.
An all-out strike is being held at every museum and library site today and another will take place on Friday.
Also, there is targeted action at Keighley Library tomorrow and there will be a picket at Cliffe Castle Museum in the town on Friday morning.
Unite says public support for the action has been strong.
And it is urging people to make their views known as part of a council consultation, which runs until December 20, on the future of the service.
Unite regional officer, Mark Martin, said: “Given the overwhelming support our members have received during the course of this dispute, it is clear that public opinion is the key to resolving this. We receive completed petition sheets every day from the public.”
