MANORLANDS is again among the beneficiaries of an annual charity event.

The Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice is sharing in the proceeds of fundraising auctions held alongside Skipton Auction Mart’s 12th Christmas primestock shows.

A record £5,000-plus was coined-in at the event, to be split between several causes.

Other organisations receiving funds include Brooklands Community Special School in Skipton and national farming charity the Addington Fund.

Since the event was founded, the trio of causes has shared windfalls totalling many thousands of pounds.

All entries in the indoor show classes – plus prizes donated by businesses and individuals – were auctioned off by the mart’s new junior auctioneer, Kyle Hawksworth.

And bidding was strong.

The event is continuing to grow, with this year’s featuring 18 indoor show classes.

Jeremy Eaton, Skipton Auction Mart’s general manager, said: “It was another truly superb result.

“We thank all the competition winners, others who generously donated prizes and charity buyers who dug so deep yet again in aid of some extremely worthwhile causes.”
