BUSES are to run in and around Keighley on Boxing Day.

The timetable will include special services to Leeds and Bradford, to cater for shoppers seeking sale bargains.

Half-hourly buses will run on the popular Aireline route between Keighley and Leeds, and on the Shuttle between Keighley and Bradford.

Keighley Bus Company general manager, Alan Isherwood, said: “Our customers tell us they appreciate being able to visit family and friends, or to shop for bargains in the sales, on Boxing Day.

“We’ve also prepared a special guide to amazing winter days out across Yorkshire using our bus services, filled with ideas – it’s available free onboard our buses and from transdevbus.co.uk/keighley.

“Our buses will make travel easier across the festive season for a day or evening out.”

* Free Christmas Day bus services will once again operate on the streets of Keighley and the Worth Valley.

The popular venture, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, has carried thousands of passengers since it began.

As last year, it will again be run by fully-qualified volunteers from the Town & District Transport Trust. Services will operate between 10am and 3.30pm, to the usual established timetable. The main bus stop will be outside The Livery Rooms, in North Street, Keighley.
