AN initiative to promote independent businesses in Keighley has been hailed as a huge success.
Four winners shared a £1,450 prize pot in the month-long festive Keighley Independents Campaign.
Shoppers who collected special stamps at participating businesses were entered into draws.
Winners over the first three weeks each received £150 in vouchers – they were Ruth Nielsen, who collected her stamps at Sequins Fancy Dress, Yoga Wellbeing Lounge and Toyland; Janet Fitzpatrick, who picked-up stamps at Magnifiscents & Soaps, Coffee Love and Clipperz; and Cathy Gibson, whose stamps were collected at Personal Ice, Dales Deli and the Picture House.
And winner of the top prize, vouchers worth £1,000, was Jon Pemberton. His stamps were collected at The Wool Shop, Adams Market Pantry and Caffe Incontro.
Paul Howard – manager of Keighley BID, which organises the initiative – said: “We run this campaign twice a year to highlight the range of businesses in the town centre and as always we were delighted with the number that took part.”
