TWO days after their festive Boxing Day fixture had to be postponed, Barnoldswick Town lost 1-0 to bottom of the table Litherland REMYCA on Saturday.

Barnoldswick had a few chances in the early going through Joe Noblet on six minutes and Ric Seear in the 12th minute, but the score remained 0-0.

Noblet had another chance on 25 minutes, but his shot went wayward after a poor corner.

Andrew Hill was part of a good move for Barlick in the 28th minute, but no-one was on hand to finish his cross.

Hill then hit a free-kick straight at the keeper in the 35th minute before the first real chance from REMYCA needed a great save from Town keeper Jack Little.

The home side from Merseyside then created another chance before a chip from Noblet in extra time had to be tipped over by the keeper, and the two sides went into half-time at 0-0.

REMYCA had the first chance of the second half, but a free header in the 50th minute was hit straight at keeper Little.

Noblet then had another chance in the 56th minute, but it was REMYCA who were first on the scoresheet when Paul Foy put the ball in the back of the net in the 61st minute.

Barlick had couple more chances, but Alex Ralph's half volley went just over the bar on 85 minutes and Seear's shot in the 87th minute was stopped by a defender's sliding tackle.

REMYCA hung on the claim the win, but remain bottom three adrift of second from bottom Burscough with 12 points.

Barnoldswick are 15th with 21 points as they travel to fifth placed Rylands this Saturday.

* Ethan Kershaw, who has been in fine form for Barnoldswick Town this season, has left the club to sign for fourth placed side Longridge Town.
