AN apprentice bricklayer with housebuilder Barratt Developments Yorkshire West has scooped a double accolade.
Wesley Betts has been crowned regional and national Apprentice of the Year.
He received the honour at the Barratt Development PLC Awards, at The Belfry in Birmingham.
Wesley, now 26, joined the company as a labourer when he was just 17.
He completed an NVQ Level 2 and is now studying advanced bricklaying at Leeds College of Building.
Wesley said he was “still a little overwhelmed” at his awards success.
“To win one award is fantastic but to take home both the regional and national titles is really rewarding!” he said. “I am lucky to have a brilliant team supporting me.”
Barratt Developments Yorkshire West schemes locally include Vision at Keighley, Hewenden Ridge in Cullingworth and Saxon Dene, Silsden.
