BARNOLDSWICK Town host Skelmersdale United this Saturday at home as they look to continue their win streak in 2020.

Last Saturday, Town travelled to fifth-placed Rylands FC, where Andrew Hill's fourth minute goal was the difference in a close 1-0 win.

There was drama in the final minutes of the match when Tom Greenfield gave away a penalty but Town keeper Jack Little pulled off a great save to keep a clean sheet.

Manager Endrit Shehu was more than pleased with the team's performance against Rylands and said: “This was the best team performance since I took over as Barnoldswick Town manager.

“We had a game plan and the players followed it and executed it perfectly,” added the 29-year-old manager.

The former Preston North End coach, who was pleased with Greenfield’s performance, said: “His job was to defend and that’s exactly what he did. We have lacked pace in our centre backs this season and Tom is a great addition to the team for that reason.”

Barlick go into this Saturday's home game against Skelmersdale without Ashley Brierley, who is still out with an ankle injury.

Skelmersdale, who are only four points behind Barnoldswick, are also in winning form after they beat Padiham 3-2 last Saturday.

When asked about whether this fixture adds a bit of extra pressure , Shehu said: “The only pressure for this fixture is building momentum. We won our game last week and we want to continue that winning form.

“This is another opportunity to get three points and that’s what we will aim to do. It should be a great game because both teams are on winning form.”
