One of the greatest works of English fiction Jane Eyre is coming to Theatre Severn.

Blackeyed Theatre in association with South Hill Park Arts Centre are putting on this captivating and intensely powerful story.

Set in the early 19th century, the moving and unforgettable portrayal of one women’s quest for equality and freedom, and lives as one of the great triumphs of storytelling.

Jane Eyre played by Kelsey Short, tells the thrilling story of an orphan girl and her journey from a childhood of loneliness and cruelty to a life at Thornfield Hall and an unlikely relationship with the mysterious Mr Rochester, played by Ben Warwick.

After falling in love, she gradually uncovers a hidden past to the gloomy forbidding Thornfield Hall where a terrible secret that forces her to make a heart-wrenching choice.

Jane Eyre was originally written by Charlotte Bronte and was first published in 1847. Nick Lane has adapted the story for the performance coming to the Theatre Severn.

He said: “I’m still pinching myself that I was given the chance to adapt such an incredible, iconic novel as Jane Eyre.”

The performance will take place for two hours and 20 minutes plus an interval, and is suitable for children aged 12 years plus.

Tickets will cost between £17 and £22.
