A DISTRICT health chief is urging people across Keighley and Craven chosen to take part in a national GP patient survey to ensure their voices are heard.

More than two million people across the country are being randomly selected to participate in the survey, as the NHS seeks feedback on patients’ experiences of using services at doctors’ surgeries.

Those chosen to take part will receive a letter and questionnaire in the coming weeks.

People will have until the end of March to complete the survey, by post or online.

Questions will also cover people’s experiences of seeing other healthcare professionals such as onsite pharmacists and practice nurses, as well as using online and phone services and having face-to-face appointments.

Dr James Thomas, GP and clinical chairman of Airedale Wharfedale and Craven Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “The patient survey plays a key role in understanding what’s working and what needs to improve.

“It is an important source of information for understanding the impact of recent changes introduced in primary care, such as extended opening hours and other initiatives, which were put in place in response to what patients said in previous years’ surveys.

“Please complete it if you receive one.”
