A POST-mortem examination of factory supervisor Robert Wilson, of Birstall, has recorded he died of multiple stab wounds, West Yorkshire Police have said.

Mr Wilson, 53, died after the attack outside Thornton & Ross pharmaceutical company, in the Linthwaite area of Huddersfield, at 11.45pm on Thursday, January 16.

A 39-year-old man suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital.

Five arrests were made initially of two males aged 18, a male and female aged 17 and a 15-year-old male, all on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

Two males aged 18 and 17 and the 17-year-old girl have been released from custody facing no further action while warrants of further detention were granted for the remaining two suspects who remain in police custody.

Following Mr Wilson's death, his family released a statement saying: "Robert was a loving and committed husband and father. As well as being loved and respected by work colleagues and friends. He leaves behind a devastated wife, Elaine, and two step children, Jack and Ella. The family would like to request privacy and respect during this difficult time."

A colleague described Mr Wilson as a 'brilliant supervisor' and said he had a smile for every one.
