A KEIGHLEY brewery hopes to raise £25,000 through crowdfunding to pay for a taproom where beer fans can have a tipple.

Wishbone Brewery owners Adrian and Emma Chapman have launched a Crowdfunder this month which will run for eight weeks.

Adrian said: “It has been our idea to open a permanent Wishbone Taproom in our hometown of Keighley for some time now, to bring modern drinks to modern drinkers.

“We realise our town has an illustrious history around beer with Timothy Taylors heading the charge with a firm grasp on tradition, Goose Eye Brewery being Keighley’s longest-running microbrewery, and Bridgehouse with their excellent pub the Airedale Heifer.

“We think its our time to add a beer destination to Keighley and we want to create a Wishbone Taproom to showcase our beers. We will champion breweries and beer that you don’t find in restrictively tied pubs or Wetherspoons.”

Adrian said the taproom would create jobs and help make Keighley a destination for good beer.

He added: “We want to create an open and accepting environment that will attract people from all backgrounds who appreciate good beer in nice surroundings.

“We believe the right venues focused on selling good independently brewed beers will lift the town. You can go out in Keighley and get some exceptional Indian and Italian food, we want to add to that with a range of beers fitting the standards of that food.”

Adrian said the Crowdfunder offered rewards for all pockets, ranging from a simple goodwill donation to ‘double your money’ deals, along with T-shirts, hoodies, hats and tote bags.

He added: “There will also be Brewday Experiences, brewery tours, brewery bar beer passes, bar and brewery hire, and top of the bill is a full-on ‘Create Your Own Commercial Beer’!”
