MANORLANDS has received a boost from charity events at Skipton Auction Mart.
Auctions staged alongside the mart’s 12th annual Christmas primestock shows raised over £5,000.
The money has been split between the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice, Brooklands Community Special School in Skipton and national farming charity the Addington Fund.
And Addingham & District Sheep Breeders’ Association coined-in more than £4,000 for Manorlands with its annual charity show and sale.
Farmers donated 25 lambs for sale, with the champion – from Chris Ryder, of Blubberhouses – being auctioned and re-donated multiple times, making £1,480.
The mart’s general manager, Jeremy Eaton, said: “We were delighted to be able to donate so much to these very worthwhile causes. We’d like to thank all the competition winners, those who generously donated prizes and the charity buyers, who always support these events so well.”
Manorlands community fundraiser, Molly Ralphson, said the hospice was “overwhelmed” at the support received from the auction mart and the sheep breeders’ association.
“The money raised will help enormously with the care we provide for patients and their families locally,” she added. “We want to thank everyone for their extremely valued support.”
