THERE will be February half-term fun at East Riddlesden Hall as the property reopens its doors. The house and gardens will be open from February 15 to March 1.

On Mondays and Thursdays families can roll up their sleeves and learn how to make traditional gingerbread, following a 400-year-old recipe. Learn how it was made using bread and honey – and then take it home to enjoy with the family.

On February 18 visitors can make their own go at making their own bread dough, as well as learning about the history of bread making in a fun, hands-on session. Outside there is a discovery garden with natural play, including a mud pie kitchen, book hunting, sticks to build dens and plenty of open space.

On February 17 the hall’s Greener Gardening talks return, when visitors can stroll round the gardens with staff learning how they are working towards a more sustainable, nature-friendly environment. On February 19 families can join Rangers for the morning to help create a better outdoor environment for local wildlife.
