KEIGHLEY district Scouts are staging a day of activities across the town.

A range of events is planned for Saturday, February 22, to celebrate Founder’s Day – when Scouts around the world mark the birthday of the movement’s founder, Robert Baden-Powell.

There will be displays, games and activities in the Airedale Shopping Centre, between 10am and 4pm.

People will have the chance to learn more about Scouting and how they can work towards the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Beavers and Cubs will be taking part in a scavenger hunt around the town centre, searching for Scouting badges in shop windows.

And Scouts and Explorers will tackle the Keighley District Monopoly Run, with teams being challenged to visit all group headquarters – and complete other tasks – within a set time.

“There are lots of exciting things happening and we’re really looking forward to sharing Scouting with Keighley,” said a spokesman.
