IDEAS are being sought for a second Keighley Arts and Film Festival.

The extravaganza is being planned following the hugely-successful inaugural festival last October.

A huge range of activities was staged over four days.

There were live performances and events on the streets as well as at venues including the Airedale Shopping Centre, Cliffe Castle Museum and park, Big Soup theatre company and the Musicians Centre.

"The events were a great success – with some impressive audience numbers," said a spokesman for Keighley Creative Space, which launched the festival.

"We are gearing up to repeat – and improve on – that success.

"We're already in conversation with venues and artistes and planning exciting events.

"But we also want to encourage individuals and groups to put on their own events and we will support that to happen – even encouraging a festival fringe."

A drop-in session is being staged at Keighley Creative Space in Hanover Street next Thursday, February 20, between 3pm and 6pm.

Visitors will be able to talk to members of the organising team, hear about ideas for this year's festival – which will take place from October 8 to 11 – watch films by Scott Coulthard and Danny Hardaker and tour the building.

Coffee and cake will be available.

The spokesman added: "In return we will be asking you for your opinions, ideas and support for the 2020 festival.

"Everyone is welcome to come along."
