HAPPY birthday to Eighties music fans on March 6 as Altered Images and their lead singer Clare Grogan perform their hits at Holmfirth Picturedrome.

Also appearing at the show will be the I Love The 80s DJ.

A spokesman said: “One of the brightest stars in the 80s new wave sky, Altered Images are best remembered for their number one single Happy Birthday.

“Their bubbly lead singer Clare Grogan originally shot to fame in the film Gregory’s Girl, then later went on to appear in Red Dwarf, Eastenders and Skins, and as a presenter on music station VH1.”

Altered Images achieved worldwide success, selling millions of records and topping the charts in several countries. They recorded three Top 10 albums and had six Top 40 singles.

The summer Clare left school her band was signed to Sony Records, and the band worked closely with Scottish painter David Band to create original artwork that was released as limited edition prints alongside the singles.

Clare recently received a Special Recognition Award at the Scottish Music Awards, headlined a gala night at the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow, and played to sell-out crowd in Los Angeles.
