CHILDREN are being encouraged to enter a poster competition on the theme ‘how do the police help you?’.

The contest, staged by West Yorkshire Police, is open to all year five and six pupils – aged nine to 11 – across the Bradford district.

“We want you to create a poster showing how the police help you,” said a spokesman.

“You can use either crayons, felt-tips, pencils, pens or paint on an A4 sheet of paper.”

Twenty finalists will have their artwork reproduced and displayed at police stations across the district and will be given a tour of Trafalgar House police station in Bradford.

Five overall winners will also have their posters framed and presented to them by the district commander.

Further information can be obtained from PC Jas Rayatt on jr26@westyorkshire.pnn.police.uk or PC Gemma Bales on gc15@westyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.

Entries can be scanned and emailed to PC Rayatt or posted to Sir Henry Mitchell House, 4 Manchester Road, Bradford BD5 0QL.

The closing date is April 3.
