ROYAL Mail has exceeded regulatory delivery targets for first-class post in the BD postcode area.

Latest figures show that in the first three quarters of the current financial year, 94.2 per cent of mail sent first-class was delivered the next working day.

The regulatory target is 93 per cent.

Across the UK, the delivery rate for the same period was 92.9 per cent.

Anton Harding, Royal Mail’s service delivery leader, said: “We are delighted with our first-class performance in the BD area.

“We take our quality of service requirements extremely seriously and our postmen and women work hard to deliver high standards to all our customers.

“Our quality of service specifications are among the highest of any major European country.”

The performance figures are contained in an independent report produced by market research company, Kantar.
