THE Conservatives have unveiled some of their Keighley-district candidates for the Bradford Council elections on May 7.

Serving councillor Russell Brown, a self-employed teacher, has been reselected to contest the Worth Valley ward.

Julie Glentworth, a driving instructor for students with special educational needs, will represent the party in Keighley West.

Keighley town councillor and former town mayor Mohammed Nazam has been chosen to contest Keighley Central. He has worked for Conservative MPs since 2010, now working with current Keighley MP Robbie Moore.

And fellow town councillor John Kirby is standing in the Keighley East ward.

The party is in the process of selecting its candidate for Craven ward.

Mike Gibbons, chairman of Keighley & Ilkley Conservative Association, said he was “thrilled” at the quality of candidates. “I’ll be working to support each of them in their respective campaigns,” he said.
