KEIGHLEY groups will show off what they do at a Community Showcase hosted by the town council.

The aim of the March 21 event is to highlight activities and services carried out by organisations that have received support from the town council.

The event is being organised by the council’s community development officer, Pip Gibson, who promises free food, music and spacesuits.

She said: “The groups from across the town invite you to take part in a fun-filled day of activities ranging from giant mural painting to karaoke.

“There will be an ongoing programme of live entertainments, craft ‘n’ keep workshops and interesting demonstrations.

“This is a great opportunity for the good folk of Keighley to come and see what our supported groups have achieved over the last couple of years. Admission is free and you can call in at any time during the day.”

Cllr Peter Corkindale, the Keighley town mayor, said he hoped as many people as possible would go along.

“We want them to find out how their Town Council has been supporting local projects in the Keighley community. We hope to make this a regular event as part of our Community Development plans for the future.”

The Showcase will be held on Saturday March 21 from 11am to 3pm in Keighley Civic Centre on North Street.
