A KEIGHLEY tattoo and piercing studio is holding a fundraising day in aid of Endometriosis UK.

The Little Tattoo Rooms will offer special flash tattoos and piercings during the day to raise cash for the charity.

There will also be a raffle, coffee and cupcakes at the event on March 15 at the studio at the Royal Arcade, off East Parade.

The charity holds a special place in the heart of owner Em Higgins because she lives with the endometriosis.

A spokesman for the studio said: "We are aiming to raise money for the charity as it is severely underfunded and also raise awareness all this debilitating disease.

"We as a team see how much much it affects Em on a daily basis.

"At 25 years old she's already had two surgeries, been put through chemical menopause, and needs a further two surgeries.

"This is on top of the negative impacts on mental health and fertility, and the fight to receive adequate treatment even after stage 4 diagnosis.

"Endometriosis is estimated to affect 1.5 to two million women in the UK but only receives around £1million in funding per year. That's not even £1 per woman."

The Little Tattoo Rooms opened in April last year with Keighley-born Em, 25, specialising in black and grey realism and Robbie Fry, 27, from Richmond, specialising in blackwork and neo traditional colour.

Within six months the pair were successful enough to recruit body piercer Rachel Cook and apprentice piercer and artist Frey Burrell.

The spokesman added: "We're a close team, more like a little family, and this also comes across in our quirky studio with nice homely touches to ensure our clients are comfortable during their visit.

"We boast art prints from talented local artists on our walls as well as work from artists around the world, and pride ourselves on supporting local artists and businesses where we can."

The Endometriosis UK event follows a successful fundraiser for Keighley Cat Care last November. The team hope to raise money for a local mental health charity later this year.

The March fundraiser runs from 11am-5pm, including a raffle prizes donated by local people
