BLUES queen Chantel McGregor is returning to Keighley on March 7 when she will play Studio 5 Live. She comes to the venue, at the Jam On Top music studio on Dalton Lane, after performing at the prestigious Ramblin Man Fair.

Of that festival performance, Metal Planet Music wrote: “’With several complicated solos she proved that she can shred with the best of them as her and her guitar became one. I was left completely mesmerised.”

Chantel recorded a live album in spring last year entitled Bury’d Alive, which was released in September 2 to tremendous reviews. Down The Front Media said the album was “raw, exciting and vital” while We Bleed Music said it was one of the best blues/rock albums of the year.

Chantel is currently writing for her third studio album and recording an acoustic album, after debuting some of the tracks on her last tour.

A female guitar prodigy, at 14 she was told by major labels that she had a “great voice, but girls don’t play guitar like that!”.
