IN MOTION, the first Keighley Transport Festival, will no longer go ahead on May 24 and 25.

Organisers hope to rearrange the festival in August this year, and if this is not possible then in the autumn or evening 2021.

Festival coordinator Graham Mitchell said the decision to postpone been taken following recent announcements by the government and advice from Bradford Council's Emergency Management Team.

He said: "I have consulted the participating partners who have worked so hard to bring together the first In Motion Keighley Transport Festival.

"We have reluctantly agreed that it is not possible for the Transport Festival to go ahead on May 24 and 25 as planned.

"However, with so much detailed work and planning behind us, we are not cancelling the Transport Festival.

"All our detailed arrangements are now being ‘put on ice’, whilst we sit tight, stay safe and ride out the coronavirus pandemic, with the hope and intention that the entire festival will take place at a time when normal social activity can be resumed."
