Due to the coronavirus outbreak, all Jurassic Coast Trust events have been cancelled until July.

Lucy Culkin, CEO of the Jurassic Coast Trust, said: “As the latest news rolls out and the effects of the corona virus become a reality, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all Jurassic Coast Trust events which were scheduled to take place between now and the beginning of July. We will monitor this situation closely, taking government advice, and update our plans regularly.

“This will include all our guided walks, our boat trips and our Big Jurassic Summer Sleep-out and learning outreach programmes.

“Given the current situation, we took this decision to ensure the health and wellbeing of our supporters, our members, our staff and volunteers.

“We will reassess the situation for our late summer events, currently due to take place in August and September in the coming weeks. For now, those events remain on sale in our online shop. If we do cancel them, please rest assured what we will offer alternatives or refunds in all cases.”

The Jurassic Coast Trust office team has also now started working from home.

Lucy added: “Rest assured that during this time we will be working hard on developing plans for protecting and conserving the coast, engagement, learning and communicating the stories of the outstanding World Heritage Site, ready to welcome you again when the time is right.

“We will be available on email and on the phone as well and regularly updating our online content in order to bring you inspirational images and learning experiences relating to the Jurassic Coast.

“Thank you so much for your support and we wish you all the best for the coming period.”
