A HOUSEBUILDER has welcomed a new recruit to its land team.

Stewart Thomson has joined Barratt Developments Yorkshire West – whose schemes include Vision in Keighley and Saxon Dene at Silsden – as senior land manager.

The 35-year-old will be responsible for identifying and securing new land opportunities for development in West and South Yorkshire.

Mr Thomson gained an MA in town and country planning and latterly was head of land and partnerships at Keepmoat Homes.

He says: “I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Barratt Developments Yorkshire West.

“I am looking forward to developing my career further and working with the land team to improve housing opportunities for local communities.”

David Coe, the company’s land director, said the appointment would “bring a wealth of knowledge” to the team.

“As one of the country’s top housebuilders we are incredibly proud of the opportunities that we are able to provide,” he added. “The construction industry is growing rapidly, so it’s a great time for anyone with an interest in housebuilding to come on board with us.”
