THE SON of Keighley hip-hop music king Saby Khan is breaking into the music business as a rapper.

East Morton teenager Islam Hussain is performing raps relating to bullying, homelessness and domestic violence.

South Craven School student Islam, known as Issy, said: “I have been subject to bullying and I spoke to my parents about it.

“My father said to me that I should make music about the danger of bullying and other serious issues affecting young people these days, such as domestic violence and homelessness.

“I started to research on why people get bullied and what needs to be done to cut it from the roots. Bullying affects thousands in the UK – at schools, work and even home – which is shocking.”

Islam, whose father is known as Sabir Hussain outside his work promoting music and dance events, started to write songs after school once he finished his homework.

He has written three songs, and has been working on cover tracks of songs by Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson and Kool and the Gang.

Islam said: “So far I have enough material for two albums and I have several artists that wish to collaborate with me including Jenna from Holland and some from New York.

“My music is aimed at everyone and my genre is hip-hop and RnB. I want to use my poetry and music writing to bring people closer together.

“My parents and my brothers and sister have been very supportive of me and I believe they should be more British Asian youngsters like me get into music and arts to promote peace and unity.”

Islam plans to perform at charity events, concerts and festivals once he has completed his album, which is collaborating on with Manchester producer Rosenberg Cohen aka Ross Da Boss from Manchester.

Anyone wishing to book Islam to perform should call Saby Khan Media on 07534 566667.

Saby started organising music and dance events in Keighley while a student at Greenhead High School and Keighley College, then organised similar events at the UK’s universities.

He went on to specialise in after-show for the likes of global hip-hop stars like Black Eyed Peas, 50 Cent, Apache Indian, Punjabi MC, Jay Sean and the Wu Tang Clan.
