HOUSING group Incommunities has rallied round in support of the Keighley Salvation Army foodbank.
The group’s Refresh catering team brought in thousands of non-perishable food items and other essentials from suppliers. Bags for the goods were provided by Iceland.
Incommunities is also working with Bradford Council and partner organisations to make deliveries to vulnerable residents across the district.
Last month we reported how donations of items to the Keighley Salvation Army foodbank had slumped since the start of the coronavirus crisis, whilst demand was increasing.
Geraldine Howley, Incommunities’ group chief executive, said: “These are challenging times for local communities and our foodbank donations continue our ongoing support for local families and individuals who rely on these sources of essential supplies.”
Captain Josh Selfe, of Keighley Salvation Army, said he was grateful for the donated food which would be “a lifesaver” for many people. To support its foodbank fund go to justgiving.com/fundraising/keighley-salvation-army1.
