TWENTY THREE more people have been announced to have died from coronavirus at hospitals in Hampshire in the last 24 hours, figures from NHS reveal.

Eight of these occured at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, who run Basingstoke, Andover and Winchester hospitals.

This brings the total number of deaths there to 49.

Additionally, an extra ten were recoreded at University Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, and five at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, bringing the totals there to 45 and 85 respectively.

In all, 179 people have died from the virus at hospital in Hampshire.

Additionally, 16 people have died from Covid-19 at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, who run Frimley Park hospital near Farnborough and hospitals in Ascot and Slough.

Across the country, a further 765 people were announced to have died in the last 24 hours at hospitals in England. The total is now 7,248.

In the last 24 hours, patients announced to have died range from aged 24 to 103, with 43 of those, aged between 33 and 99, had no underlying health conditions.
