AN organisation which supports businesses across the region has brought forward the launch of a new website to provide extra help during the coronavirus crisis.

West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce’s new site aims to make information for its members more easily accessible, with many employees now working from home.

Human resources advice and legal help, plus guidance related to the virus, are now simpler to obtain when operating remotely.

The site brings together the web pages of the Leeds, Bradford and York & North Yorkshire chambers.

There are new user-friendly features, including the ability to book and pay for events online, and a members’ directory.

A special Covid-19 business news page will be carried throughout the current crisis.

Sandy Needham, chief executive of West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, says the website will enhance members’ online experience during “these unprecedented times”. She said it would encompass information from across the region and all the services offered by the chamber.

“We are delighted to be sharing some good news in these extraordinary times,” she added.

“Business is evolving all the time and we felt our online presence needed to do the same.

“The new website is easier to navigate and much more user-friendly. We believe it will enhance the membership experience and deliver the most up-to-date information.”

Ruth Shann, the chamber’s head of operations, said she was delighted with the site.

“We are excited about it and its functionality,” she added.

“When you bring a number of websites together and implement change it can be a challenge, but the results are fantastic.

“Giving members the opportunity to search for enhanced event information, book online and find all the latest business news and advice on one platform is amazing. We are also launching online ‘webinars’ – which would not have been possible before – and in these unprecedented times it’s great that we have something positive to share.”

Website content will be updated further in the coming months and the members’ area will be enhanced with an online portal where users will be able to perform functions such as viewing invoices and updating company information.

The website is at wnychamber.co.uk.
