DEATHS related to coronavirus at Airedale General Hospital have now risen to 40.

A total of 58 deaths have also been recorded at Bradford Royal Infirmary where patients tested positive for Covid19 bringing the Bradford district's total to 98.

A statement from NHS England said: "A further 744 people, who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 11,005.

"Patients were aged between 34 and 102 years old and 58 of the 744 patients (aged between 38 and 96 years old) had no known underlying health condition.

"Their families have been informed."

The North East and Yorkshire accounted for 93 of the casualties.

Nationally, a further 813 have died bringing the UK total to 12,142.

The hospital is unable to offer data at this time relating to the number of people being treated for the virus, or have been treated and discharged.
