INTREPID staff from Oxenhope Primary School are scaling new heights in support of Manorlands.
They are climbing stairs in their homes, collectively aiming to achieve the equivalent height of Mount Everest – just over 29,000 feet.
An online fundraising page was set-up – at justgiving.com/fundraising/oxenhope-primary-everest – and the group smashed through its original target of £500.
The total now stands at over £1,800.
Sue Ryder launched an emergency appeal after it revealed that Manorlands at Oxenhope and the other hospices it operates are facing closure within months due to a funding crisis.
With the charity's shops closed and fundraising events curtailed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, its income has dried-up.
