KATIE Collin and her family decided that during lockdown they wanted to do something that would be a thank you for all the hard work that farmers undertake, particularly during this very tough year.

Katie grew up on a farm and has been involved in agriculture one way or another all her life.

Katie and James' daughter Edith (Ede) Hudspeth is just 13 months old and has been walking since pancake day. She loves toddling around their smallholding in Selside, near Horton-in-Ribblesdale, where she feeds the sheep and chickens with her miniature bucket.

The family came up with the idea of ‘Ede’s Little Big Toddle’. The route was along the length of their land, approximately 600 metres, though the family say Ede`s route was ultimately longer as she doesn't like to travel in a straight line!

The charity that Katie, James and Ede chose to support is the Farm Safety Foundation who aim to help to make farms safer places and help farmers take better care of their own wellbeing and mental health.

The ‘Toddle’ took place on Saturday in great weather conditions. Dandelions and daisies were picked along the way, and Ede paused to feed the pony and chat to the sheep.

Some neighbours came out to show support from a suitable distance over a wall and they even created a finish line for her with bubbles and chocolate buttons!

The family said everyone has been very generous and thanked people for their kind support.
