A MONTH-long marathon challenge by Oakworth Juniors Football Club is continuing to net cash for Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice Manorlands.
Around 50 players, parents and coaches are taking part in a Manorlands Marathon May challenge.
Each is aiming to run the equivalent of a marathon – 26.2 miles – during the month, as they take exercise from their homes.
Run updates, photos and screen shots are being posted on the club’s Facebook page.
And a Just Giving fundraising webpage has been set-up at justgiving.com/fundraising/nigel-smith61.
The initial target was £500, but that was smashed within a couple of days. The total currently stands at over £3,800.
"Many of the lads have reached their mileage targets this week and are just cracking on to see where they get to," said Nigel Smith, the club’s under-14s coach.
