A CHOIR with groups in Silsden, Bingley, Skipton and Oakworth has gone online with one of its songs to raise money for the Martin House children’s hospice.
Members of Voices of Yorkshire each recorded themselves separately for the “lip sync” to raise money for their chosen charity. Within an hour of uploading the video they smashed their £250 fundraising target, and by last week donations had passed the £2,000 mark.
A choir spokesman said: “We wanted to do something to help and make up for all the cancelled fundraising events that Martin House rely on so heavily to keep their facility going.”
“Voices of Yorkshire raised £1,300 for Martin House at its live show in March, just before the lockdown. This was only going to be the tip of the iceberg with 15 public appearances confirmed throughout 2020 and many more to follow.”
